Shannaghmore Trip Blog - 2011

End of Day 2/Start of Day 3

Well good morning all! Hope you have had a good nights sleep, because we all slept like logs here at Shannaghmore after a busy day! Everyone is healthy and well, even the teachers! Everyone had a smashing time during the activities with lots of climbing, splashing and even mud bathing occurring (all clothes should be packed away in a plastic bag, don't worry)! Last night we went on the night line which everyone seemed to really enjoy and only a few people peaked out beneath their blindfolds. We played some team building games and then went for a lovely walk to see the sights of Shannaghmore. After the walk we returned to watch the video and after that it was straight to bed, and as I say everyone slept very well. We are all now up and getting packed ready for going home, some of the boys have even been spotted tidying up their dorms, but I fear that this may turn out to be false hope! P6S are all nearly ready for heading home after a final activity for the groups, then we await the arrival of P6B and we can start all over again, please send a fresh batch of coffee for the staff!

End of Day 1

The first day is drawing to a close and the children are settling in for the night. We have had a great first day, lots of fun has been had by all. Everyone is well and the beach walk was a particular highlight at Murlough bay, with lots of shells and jelly fish being closely examined and inspected! We are all looking forward to a good nights sleep and an early start tomorrow morning for breakfast. Then it is on to activities and the fun of the day. Mr. Kennedy arrived and met us at Murlough bay and says, "Everyone was looking very healthy and enjoying the late summer sun. Slieve Donard and Slieve Commedagh looked particularly beautiful in the late evening light. We took some photographs of all the party and all were in great spirits. We went back to our base at Shannaghmore and did a lovely woodland walk just before a delicious supper of toast and juice (thank you Mrs. Peacock). Lights out happening quite soon and we look forward to another beautiful day at Shannaghmore. Sleep well everyone." The children have really been enjoying your comments, as Mr. Somerville is passing them all on as they come in. Please keep them coming! Regards from the Shannaghmore team.
