What a wonderful day welcoming all the children into school to spend a day focused on books and stories. It was fantastic seeing the children dressed up and bringing in their wooden spoon characters or props related to the books they enjoy reading. The Assembly Hall was filled with so many different characters from different books. It really was a sight to behold. It was a very difficult decision for the staff to choose prize winners to receive a bookmark. A huge thank you to the parents and adults at home that made this such a memorable day for the children by helping with costumes and crafts.
Every class enjoyed completing activities around the books the children enjoy reading.
Enjoy looking through the photo gallery to see if you can recognise any of the characters.

Waringstown Primary School are taking part in Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel Challenge from 11-22 March. We are encouraging all pupils to take part by walking, scooting or cycling to school. All active journeys to school will be recorded daily by the class teacher and there will be a prize for the most active class.
Why take part?
Travelling actively and sustainably has never been so important, it helps pupils arrive to school alert and ready to start the day and helps create a nicer environment around the school.

Primary Three had a great day out at Armagh Planetarium.
They watched a wonderful presentation of the solar system in the dome theatre and made rockets.
The highlight came when the children were allowed to release their rockets into space using a rocket launcher.
After a question-and-answer session the children were allowed to explore and investigate different space stations.
A brilliant day was had by all.

Primary 3 had a wonderful visit from Mr Patterson and all his birds of prey. Each child got to hold a barn owl and see a peregrine falcon. It was a fitting end to our bird topic.
