Recently our girls football team travelled to Kings Park Primary School for the Mid Ulster Shield. The girls played six games in the group stage, with four games ending in a scoreless draw. We lost 1-0 against tournament winners, Bocombra with the girls playing some great football. Charlie our goalkeeper saved many difficult shots. We won our last game 1-0 against Hardy with a well taken goal from Sienna.
The girls were delighted to hear that they got through to the plate. Our semi-final was against Maralin. A very close game that ended in a scoreless draw. Unfortunately, we conceded one goal in a golden goal scenario.
The girls were great ambassadors for WPS, working together, communicating, and supporting each other. A great day of football, well done girls!

A huge thank you to Olivia, a volunteer from the RNLI, who came into school on Thursday to teach us about how to keep safe at the beach.
We learned about the various RNLI flags and know to swim in between the red and yellow flags when on the beach. We were advised to wear bright swim wear (not blue, white or black) so the lifeguards can see us easily and to NEVER bring inflatable beach toys into the water. We met Rescue Ryan and Rescue Rachel who helped the children role play an RNLI rescue!
Thank you to everyone who donated to the RNLI and raise £260 which was presented to Olivia to give to the RNLI on behalf of Waringstown Primary School.

On May 16th and 17th we had the privilege of welcoming The Amazing Journey into our school.
P1 - P7 were taken on an amazing journey through both the Old and New Testament stories with different characters sharing their stories with us. Our boys are girls also had an opportunity to dress up and try some food from many years ago.
A huge thank you to James and his team of fantastic volunteers from Moira Baptist for making this possible.

We were very privileged to welcome the author, Tim Bailie into school. Every class had the opportunity to meet him and take part in a session where he introduced and read one of his books, ‘Mouse and the Moon Rocket.’ Tim talked to the children about the moral of the story which is to always help others and never worry about asking for help when we need it.
It was an inspiring day for the children to meet an author and hopefully this will encourage the children to keep reading for enjoyment and maybe even try writing a story of their own.
Thank you to all who purchased Tim’s book. He was blown away by the support and generosity. We hope you enjoy reading the story at home.
You can check out his website and other books using the link below.
