Details

Published: 10 June 2025

Several of the P7 Gardening Club sprung into action to ensure the grounds have a burst of summer colour for the month of June and beyond (we hope).

The children have worked very hard all year and ensured we are ready for an unannounced visit from Mr Titchmarch, should he be in the area! Well done and thank you children!

Thanks to Mrs J Humphreys and Mrs J Davison for leading the gardening club once again. We appreciate all that you do.

This week, our Primary 7 leavers were presented with their official leaver hoodies, a significant milestone in their final term at Waringstown Primary School. These hoodies represent more than just clothing; they serve as a cherished memento, commemorating the pupils’ time and achievements throughout their primary education. As they prepare to transition to secondary school, this special keepsake will provide each individual with a tangible reminder of their journey, fostering a sense of pride and belonging as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their academic path.

P7 are very proud of their handiwork for Mother's Day. Each pupil designed and painted a terracotta flower pot with acrylic paint and varnish. We hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day surprise as much as we enjoyed making them.

P7 Mrs Humphrey’s class welcomed Tools of Solidarity into school for a workshop, as part of the Zero Waste Champion School Pilot.  It was a very productive afternoon and the children had the opportunity to learn how to sew and make lovely brooches from remnants of material.  Tools of Solidarity had some very interesting facts.  Did you know that there are enough clothes already made in the world to clothe everyone for the next 6 generations?  They encouraged the pupils to take into consideration where clothes are bought from and to reuse and repair clothes, creating a circular economy.

Busy Bees in P7

Did you know, there are about 25,000 types of bees in the world, with probably more species awaiting discovery?
Were you aware that most species are solitary, that males cannot sting, and that collectively, they help to pollinate an estimated one third of all the food we eat?
In our first term Primary 7 have been learning about bees and how we can help them...
Take a look at the photos when we enjoyed tasting some honey on toast! The class have enjoyed learning all about bees and how important they are as well as designing beautiful honey posters and labels! It definitely has left them buzzzzzzing!! They definitely have become a force to 'bee' reckoned with!
