Primary 5 rolled up their sleeves and got creative for Pancake Tuesday! The classroom was filled with excitement as pupils toasted and decorated their very own pancakes.
The children explored the history of Pancake Tuesday, learning how the tradition began as a way for people to use up rich foods like eggs, sugar and butter before the start of Lent. They also discovered some of the special customs linked to the day, including pancake races and tossing competitions enjoyed in different parts of the world.
Once the learning was done, it was time for the best part, decorating! Pupils chose their favourite toppings, from sugar and syrup to marshmallows and lemon juice. It was a memorable, hands on learning experience that blended tradition, creativity and lots of delicious fun. Well done Primary 5!

Primary 5 put on a fantastic show this week as they led our school assembly for Safer Internet Day 2026. Everyone was excited to watch their fun and creative performance all about staying safe online.
The theme of their assembly was 'Surf Smart Squad vs. the Internet Villains'. The Surf Smart Squad taught us all about how to make good choices on the internet, like keeping our personal information private, thinking before we click and being kind to others online.
However, the Internet Villains tried their best to cause trouble! They showed some of the problems we can face online, such as fake messages, unsafe links and people pretending to be someone they’re not. Fortunately, Primary 5 showed us exactly how to spot these tricks.
Just when the story got exciting, the Light of Wisdom made a magical 'star appearance'. With calm advice and bright ideas, the Light of Wisdom helped both the Smart Squad and the Villains learn the best ways to stay safe and make smart choices on the internet.
The whole assembly was full of energy, teamwork and great messages that everyone can remember and use every day. To finish off, Primary 5 sang the catchy song 'Internet Safety', which had the whole hall joining in!
A big well done to Primary 5 for teaching the school such important online safety tips in a fun and memorable way. We are very proud of you!

Mrs Peacocke's Primary 5 class led a beautiful assembly all about the Christingle. The pupils worked hard and enjoyed sharing the meaning behind this special tradition, explaining the symbolism of the orange, candle and decorations. Through a song, drama and thoughtful reflections, they reminded everyone of the light and hope that the Christingle represents during the Advent season. Well done to Primary 5 for their confidence and teamwork in delivering such an inspiring assembly. Mrs Peacocke is very proud of every child for participating and learning their lines so well.

As part of their Ancient Egyptian topic, our Primary 5 pupils have been getting creative with clay. They learned about the importance of pottery in Ancient Egyptian daily life and then tried their hand at making their own pinch pots. The children shaped and decorated their pots. The results were fantastic, a wonderful blend of history and hands-on learning. Have a look at their wonderful creations.
