P5 After School Bike Club

Our Primary 5 children have been having a fantastic time at Bike Club this term, guided by Dave Wiggins from Walk, Cycle, Wheel Trust. Each week after school, pupils arrive eager to hop on their bikes, learn new skills, and enjoy the outdoors in a fun and active way. They have been learning about bike safety and developing their cycling skills.  The activities they have been participating in not only build strength and coordination but also help pupils learn how to ride safely alongside others.  We are very proud of how well our Primary 5 cyclists are doing and are extremely grateful to Dave Wiggins for sharing his expertise.

P5 Trip to the Navan Centre – Exploring Ancient Egypt!

Primary 5 had a fantastic day on their Educational Visit to the Navan Centre, where they stepped back in time to explore the fascinating world of the Ancient Egyptians. The pupils were excited from the moment they arrived, and the trip was packed full of hands‑on learning and memorable experiences.

While there, the pupils had the opportunity to make Egyptian headdresses, watch and participate in the process of mummification and learn about Egyptian gods and goddesses.  They also met an Egyptian farmer and his slave.

The trip was a wonderful opportunity for Primary 5 to deepen their understanding of Ancient Egypt in a fun and interactive way.

Well done, Primary 5, for representing our school so brilliantly!

Primary 5W Celebrate Pancake Tuesday in Style!

Details
Category: Primary 5
Published: 17 February 2026

Primary 5 rolled up their sleeves and got creative for Pancake Tuesday! The classroom was filled with excitement as pupils toasted and decorated their very own pancakes.

The children explored the history of Pancake Tuesday, learning how the tradition began as a way for people to use up rich foods like eggs, sugar and butter before the start of Lent. They also discovered some of the special customs linked to the day, including pancake races and tossing competitions enjoyed in different parts of the world.

Once the learning was done, it was time for the best part, decorating! Pupils chose their favourite toppings, from sugar and syrup to marshmallows and lemon juice. It was a memorable, hands on learning experience that blended tradition, creativity and lots of delicious fun. Well done Primary 5!

Primary 5 Shine In Their Safer Internet Day 2026 Assembly

Primary 5 put on a fantastic show this week as they led our school assembly for Safer Internet Day 2026. Everyone was excited to watch their fun and creative performance all about staying safe online.

The theme of their assembly was 'Surf Smart Squad vs. the Internet Villains'. The Surf Smart Squad taught us all about how to make good choices on the internet, like keeping our personal information private, thinking before we click and being kind to others online.

However, the Internet Villains tried their best to cause trouble! They showed some of the problems we can face online, such as fake messages, unsafe links and people pretending to be someone they’re not. Fortunately, Primary 5 showed us exactly how to spot these tricks.

Just when the story got exciting, the Light of Wisdom made a magical 'star appearance'. With calm advice and bright ideas, the Light of Wisdom helped both the Smart Squad and the Villains learn the best ways to stay safe and make smart choices on the internet.

The whole assembly was full of energy, teamwork and great messages that everyone can remember and use every day. To finish off, Primary 5 sang the catchy song 'Internet Safety', which had the whole hall joining in!

A big well done to Primary 5 for teaching the school such important online safety tips in a fun and memorable way. We are very proud of you!

Our Primary 5 pupils have been thoroughly enjoying their recent series of gymnastics lessons. Pupils have had the opportunity to move around a variety of equipment and skill based stations, each designed to help them develop balance, coordination, strength and confidence. From practising rolls and jumps to navigating beams and working on controlled movement, the class has shown fantastic focus and determination.

The children have particularly enjoyed:

  • Trying out new pieces of equipment
  • Challenging themselves at different activity stations
  • Working together and encouraging their classmates
  • Building new skills week by week

It has been wonderful to see the excitement and pride on their faces as they master new techniques and take on fresh challenges.
