Primary 5 had an exciting and educational trip to Parliament Buildings at Stormont, where they had the opportunity to learn all about how laws are made and how Northern Ireland is governed. During the guided tour, the children explored the impressive building, including the Assembly and Senate Chamber, and discovered the important work carried out by Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

The pupils asked thoughtful questions and were engaged as they developed their understanding of democracy and decision-making. A highlight of the day was experiencing firsthand where debates take place and imagining what it might be like to represent their community in the future as they took on the debate of, ‘Should school uniform be banned?’

Well done to all of Primary 5 for their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout this memorable visit.
