Primary 5 recently had a very enjoyable visit to Parliament Buildings, Stormont. They were given the opportunity to visit the Great Hall and the Assembly Chamber. The children were able to take part in a debate on 'the advantages/disadvantages of school uniform'. Everyone took part and contributed to the discussion, the comments were interesting! The children were then expected to take their vote on the debate and had to make a choice of 'for' or 'against' by walking through a particular door to be counted. They thoroughly enjoyed this exercise! Mrs Peacocke and Mrs Williamson both agreed that they may have a few budding politicians in Primary 5! The children enjoyed a picnic and play in the closely located Stormont Park afterwards. Take a look through our picture gallery to see how the children got on:

Representatives from both the ABC Council and PSNI Road Policing recently visited Primary 5 to deliver the important message of 'Street SMART, Road SAFE'. This programme is invaluable in teaching our young children essential road skills, as well as highlighting the all important Green Cross Code. The children really enjoyed and benefited greatly from this very worthwhile and educational visit. A special thank you was said to both representatives who were fantastic in relaying their safety message.

Primary 5 thoroughly enjoyed a recent visit to the Ulster Museum in connection with their World Around Us topic of The Egyptians. The children enjoyed time in the Learning Zone led by a qualified Archaeologist, here they were able to identify and handle various artefacts from Egyptian times before heading up to Zone 2 in search of the famous Mummy Takabuti!
