Dear parents
I trust that you and your families are all staying safe and keeping well in these most challenging days.
As of yet, we still don’t have key information as to the how or when schools will re-open. Therefore, as part of the next step in our contingency plans, teachers have worked extremely hard to create a second four week Learning Pack. The Pack will begin on Monday 04 of May. Communication from and with teachers will continue through SeeSaw.
As happened previously, the Learning Packs will have to be collected from school and with this is mind the main School Mall will be open on Friday 01 May (9.30am – 3.00pm) and again on Monday 04 May (9.30am - 3.00pm). We ask that you simply collect the Learning Pack from the school Central Mall, avoiding conversation with any other parents in the building at that time. There should be no more than two adults in the Central Mall at any time, so please be vigilant and observe social distancing rules. (The Mall doors will be off the Buzzer System so access is more straight forward enabling you to enter and leave with ease)
We have Key Worker children in school so we ask that you DO NOT move to the classrooms or attempt to speak with staff who may be in the building. It is vital at this time that we avoid contact with other people.
My Board of Governors, staff and I extend very best wishes to each member of the Waringstown Primary School community.
My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you all.

Please note that the school will be in touch via our website with details regarding a Waringstown Primary School Induction Pack and possible start days etc for September 2020. However, at this stage in the Covid-19 outbreak, it is simply impossible to plan with total accuracy the routines and procedures for the next academic year.
Citizen Portal
It is worth noting that should your post be delayed, the Citizen Portal will be open on Wednesday 29 April and parents / guardians who applied online can log in to view their child’s pre-school and Primary One placements. Guidance on how to log in and access placement offers will be accessible on the Education Authority website.
Congratulations on receiving a place at our Nursery Unit or Primary School.

Dear Parent.
Our Sustrans Schools’ Officer Dave, who pupils will know from his visits to school, has sent through his weekly video and learning activity which pupils can do at home. These activities are aimed at keeping active, having fun and learning as part of our schools’ involvement in the Active School Travel programme. Please feel free to WATCH THIS VIDEO TOGETHER and use the activity sheet (attached as PDF) whilst learning at home this week. You can show Dave how you’re staying active while staying home by tagging @SustransNI on Facebook or Twitter and using #stayhomestayactive in your posts. Enjoy!

Dear children and parents
It's hard to believe that the Easter Holidays, such as they were, have been and gone but today marks the start of Term 3. I trust that you and your extended families are well and staying safe in these most challenging times!
The staff prepared a Work Pack when the school closed and children should now resume home learning in line with the pack and the online guidance offered by staff via the SeeSaw App.
I am not aware of any return to school date therefore the staff will very soon be preparing another month's work in the form of a second Work Pack which will be available for collection once again from the school mall. Further information will be available soon regarding the collection date and times in order that we maintain social distancing guidelines.
I wish to extend the staff and my personal best wishes to you all.

Dear parents
With Monday 06 April to Friday 17 April being the Easter Holidays, work on the learning packs should cease for two weeks.
Teachers will be back in touch via SeeSaw on Monday 20 April with planners corresponding to the learning packs which will enable you to recommence using them.
Planning ahead:
As of yet we are still unsure of the best way forward, although we have contingency plans in place to create new learning packs (For 04 May and beyond) as we believe the pack is much better than simply relaying work home via SeeSaw. Further information will follow on this and on the arrangements for how we will manage and stage the collection of these new Packs ensuring social distancing measures.
Thank you for your continued support and patience

Dear parents
In these extraordinary times we trust that you and your entire family are well and staying safe.
We are aware that amidst the disappointment of cancelling our school performance of ‘Snow White’ due to the Covid-19 outbreak we need to refund the ticket money of tickets which have already been purchased.
Please keep your tickets safe at home. Once we are back to normal working conditions and school routines have been re-established, we will ask for the tickets to be returned with the eldest child’s name on the back of each ticket. Refunds will then be sent home.
Kind regards

- Stand at least 2 metres away from other parents when waiting for children to be brought out of school at home times.
- Please leave immediately without trying to engage in conversation with staff.
If you need to email the school; do so on:

Dear 'Key Worker' Parents,
As the school and my staff prepare for Monday I would like to outline some VERY important points:
- There will be a skeleton staff on operation
- This is a Childcare arrangement as advised by the DENI
- Children will not be allowed any electronic devices in school
- Children must wear school uniform
- Children must bring a Packed Break and Lunch
- Children must have all requisites from home (ie; the school equipment cannot be used as it would be simply impossible to 'deep clean' the toys, stationery and classroom equipment plus the actual classrooms on a daily basis)
May I emphasize that we are a 'LAST RESORT' for childcare and should only be used if absolutely necessary.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
