Sports day 2022 was a huge success!
The children all enjoyed the races and events. The day was made ever so special with parents, grandparents and friends in attendance. Thankfully the rain stayed away long enough for every class to participate and enjoy the day.

On Monday the boys and girls from the Jubilee Performing Arts afterschool club treated the whole school to an assembly to celebrate the life of our Queen.
The children worked so hard learning lines, catchy songs and even producing artwork to decorate the stage.
It was so wonderful to have everyone together in assembly again and we are so proud of the children for putting on such a great performance.
Please enjoy watching our assembly at home.

Waringstown Primary School celebrated in style today. Everyone turned out in their colours to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Queen herself even managed a short visit and scoot around the village in her Royal Standard buggy! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to spectate and cheer us on. Primary 1 had a day they'll never forget!
The children came to school wearing their shorts and t-shirts and with their suitcases ready for a flight to the sun on Waringstown Airlines. We couldn't believe our eyes when Captain McCambley came in to tell the boys and girls that the aeroplane was now ready to board. So we gave the children their passports, put their luggage in the hold and went through check-in where they got their boarding passes. The children had to make sure they weren't carrying any sharp items as they went through security and into the departure lounge. We then boarded the plane and watched a safety announcement and sat back ready for take off.
After take-off the children relaxed and enjoyed an inflight snack served by the Cabin Crew. It was a very safe and pleasant flight and we all had the best day dressing up as part of our Fun in the Sun topic.

Our Waste, Our World.
We’re very aware of looking after our environment in P7. On Tuesday , Pete, from Habitat for Humanity conducted a workshop to help us understand the impact waste has on the world and what we can do about it. We were shocked by how long it takes some of our waste to disintegrate!
Pete gave us lots of ideas about how to reuse and repurpose some items that would normally get thrown away - we hope you like the old, donated tiles we repurposed as coasters.
