Primary 7 Photos from Hillsborough Castle

Details
Category: News
Published: 10 May 2022

Primary 7 finished off their Victorians topic in style with a visit to Hillsborough Castle and gardens.
We were met at the door of the ‘big house’ by Mrs Lambourne, the housekeeper, who guided us through all the rooms. She told us about the jobs we would do if we were lucky enough to get the position of servant to Lord and Lady Hill. She inspected our hands and teeth and taught us how to curtesy and bow. We also had to guess what some peculiar Victorian objects were used for.
Unfortunately, Mrs Lambourne discovered we were all a couple of years too young to apply for a position at the house and sent us all back to school. Everyone was relieved as the hours were a bit long and school definitely seemed a lot more appealing than a job - even if it was a in the palace at Royal Hillsborough!

Published: 17 December 2021

We are delighted to announce that one of our P6 pupils is the winner of this year's CSSC (Controlled Schools' Support Council) Christmas card competition. The theme was to design a Christmas Card showing the true meaning of Christmas.

Today we welcomed Mrs Murray from CSSC who presented our winner with a framed picture of her design, christmas cards with her design on them and several other treats. What a lovely thing for us as a school to celebrate just before the Christmas break.

Remembrance Assembly 2021

Details
Category: News
Published: 12 November 2021

This morning the children throughout the whole school watched a short Remembrance Assembly on their iPanels which had been recorded by Mr McCambley.

At the same time, the Primary 7 bubble were able to join (in the well-ventilated mall area) with Mr McCambley and some staff to take part in the school’s Remembrance Day Assembly.

It was good to unite to remember the significance of the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month.

The oldest boy and girl in the school will, as is our custom, lay the wreath on behalf of the school at the village Cenotaph on Sunday 14 November.
