Primary 1 made lots of new discoveries when making jelly as part of their “Red Topic”!
They watched the jelly cubes melt when the boiling water was poured on. A spoon was used to stir the jelly. The jelly liquid was put into the fridge to cool and set. The next day we checked the fridge and the jelly was no longer a liquid, it had set! It was wibbly, wobbly and ready to eat! We all agreed it was the best jelly ever! It was DELISH!

Primary 2 have been learning lots of new facts about hedgehogs. We enjoyed shaping and moulding our piece of clay into the perfect hedgehog shape. We pinched the clay to help it resemble a snout and inserted lots of wooden sticks to resemble the spines. The children all had great fun getting their hands dirty and seeing their final masterpiece. I think you’ll agree they did a great job!

The whole school community came together to mark the death and to celebrate the life of The Queen, Elizabeth The Great!
We recalled the servant aspect of her life and remembered how we celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in May.
Mr McCambley had posted all of the school cards off to Windsor Castle in June and just this week received a beautiful letter and commemorative booklet from Balmoral Castle informing our school community of how touched HM The Queen was to receive such beautiful, handmade cards.
The children behaved impeccably this morning in our very first whole school assembly as we marked this remarkable day in history and the life of our nation.

Primray 1 enjoyed a colourful day of fun, food and caterpillars! ??
The boys and girls have been enjoying learning all about caterpillars and butterflies over the last couple of weeks.
We even went on a bug hunt in our forest area to find some caterpillars.
We finished our topic in style by having a Hungry Caterpillar day. We painted butterflies and saw the symmetry created when we folded the wings over.
We ate caterpillar cake and lots and lots of tasty treats! We also sequenced the life cycle of a butterfly and watched ‘a bugs life’ during wet break! ?
The children (and staff) had such a fun day and we all thought we looked really cool in our hungry caterpillar hats!
The boys and girls also brought home their own individual books of the very hungry caterpillar that they've been working on for the past couple of weeks!
