We were delighted to be able to welcome the Livestock & Meat Commision to our school on Tuesday morning. Mrs Margaret Anderson spoke to P7E about the importance of supporting Farm Quality Assured meat in Northern Ireland. Margaret demonstrated to the children how beef and lamb can be used as part of a healthy balanced diet, by cooking Thai Beef Noodles for the children.
This was a lovely easy and tasty dish which the children are keen to make themselves at home! Maybe this will be the start of their Masterchef journey!

The Primary Six and Seven hockey teams headed to Kingspark to play in a fun hockey tournament on Thursday 4th May. This was the first time the girls played as a team, and they did brilliantly. They had to play four eight-minute matches, which was exhausting. Each player gave 100%. It was a great afternoon of fun.

The girls hockey team headed down to Stormont on Friday. The team won 9 games and drew 1. Through the tournament, they scored 16 goals while only conceding 2! They finished top of their group to progress into the quarter finals. After a tough match with Seagoe, which finished 0-0 they had to go to run-ins. The girls kept their cool and came out victorious with a 3-2 win. The semi-final was against Stranmillis. In another hard-fought match, they won 2-0.
Onto the final, a very exhausted bunch of young ladies dug very deep and showed great determination to work hard for each other and not give up, with a lovely breakaway goal. The girls went 1-0 up and saw the match out to the final whistle. A huge congratulations.
