P4 have been busy as budding news production teams! As part of our topic on "Life In the Recent Past" looking at WW2, we investigated the incidents of the Belfast Blitz. We researched the facts online and from literature. Everyone wrote their own report. We then looked at news reports today and how these are put together with a production team. In our groups we worked hard to produce a news script telling the main events of the Belfast Blitz. When we were happy with our news scripts, we recorded these on our iPads using the green screen app. We then learned how videos can be modified putting in backgrounds and news photos of the time. With a little bit of help from our super ICT team and the iMovie app, we added an old newsreel introduction video and our news reports were complete. We learned a lot, so did our teachers! We hope you enjoy the results!

The Primary 4 children are allowed to wear their school tracksuit for their trip tomorrow.
They should also bring a packed lunch in a named plastic bag with a disposable water bottle. They may also bring a little snack in their coat pocket that they may eat on the bus as we travel to the Transport Museum.

What a lovely day we've all had at Sports Day. The children all did so well at the races, as did those parents that entered their races. After lunch P3 and P4 gathered outside to congratulate our winners. Click the 'read more' link to see some pictures:
