As one of our pupil's grandmothers won a competition through TESCO to take a class to Irwin's bakery, our P4 class had a wonderful trip today. After an initial welcome by Mr Irwin, we were walked through the factory floor and saw the whole process of bread making. It was fantastic. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures on the floor, but simply ask P4Gs pupils about their experience and they'll be able to tell you all about it.
Can you answer this question....What are the five main ingredients in making bread?

In P4 we have been busy on our iPads. As part of the topic 'Me - I'm Unique' we made our own ebook autobiographies. We took photos around our class and our school to illustrate our ebooks. Mr Gault's class also then used SeeSaw to share their images.

Have a look through the pictures to see some of the practical work we're doing to help us learn our 2D shapes. Today we carried out investigations cutting and sorting various 2D shapes. We learned a lot about their unique features and enjoyed working with them.
Remember, 2D shapes are flat and 3D shapes you can hold and put your hands around.

Both P4 classes start work on Venn Diagrams today, to sort out data. The boys and girls used lots of practical materials, both on the floor and on their tables, to sort 2D Shapes and 3D Cubes out. It was great to see the children work in their groups and pairs, demonstrating so many of the thinking skills and personal capabilities as set out in the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
