Our Primary Seven pupils recently had an exciting opportunity to take part in a hands-on STEM workshop with Hyster-Yale, giving them a real insight into the world of engineering. During the session, pupils explored what it is like to work in a production line environment, taking on practical challenges that mirrored real-life engineering processes.
Working both independently and as part of a team, the class learned about problem-solving, precision and the importance of collaboration in manufacturing. They discovered how different stages in a production line connect and the vital role each person plays in creating a finished product.
The workshop not only developed their understanding of STEM subjects but also sparked curiosity about future careers in engineering and industry. It was a fantastic experience that brought learning to life and inspired our pupils to think creatively and ambitiously about the world of work.

What a spectacular day! A massive congratulations to all our amazing pupils for making this year's Sports Day one of our best yet. From the nursery children taking their very first steps on the track to the Primary 7s blazing through their events, the determination and sportsmanship on display was absolutely incredible.
Whether they were balancing eggs on spoons, conquering the sack race, or sprinting for the finish line, every single child gave it their all. A huge thank you to our staff for organising the events, and to all the parents, guardians, and families who came out to cheer—your energy on the sidelines was unmatched.

Primary 5 in Mrs Williamson’s class recently took part in an exciting science investigation as part of their topic on penguins.
The pupils explored how penguins are able to swim and survive in the freezing, sub-zero temperatures of Antarctica. They learned that penguins stay warm thanks to a thick layer of blubber, which protects them from the extreme cold.
To understand this concept, the class carried out a hands on experiment. Pupils first placed their hands into a saucepan filled with ice to see how long they could tolerate the cold. They then repeated the activity, this time wearing a glove insulated with lard to represent the blubber that a penguin would have.
This allowed the children to compare the difference and clearly see how blubber helps to keep warmth in and protect against the cold. The investigation brought their learning to life and helped deepen their understanding of animal adaptation.
The pupils had great fun taking part in this experiment and thoroughly enjoyed this engaging and memorable learning experience.

In our weekly assembly, we were delighted to celebrate the many pupils across the school who received Mr McCambley’s highly sought after Golden Postcards.
Throughout the week, children from Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 proudly collected these special awards in recognition of their outstanding efforts. These postcards are awarded to pupils who consistently give 100% in all aspects of school life, including their behaviour, attitude and commitment in the classroom.
It was wonderful to see so many pupils recognised for their hard work, positive mindset and dedication to doing their very best every day. Their achievements serve as an excellent example to others and reflect the high standards we uphold as a school community.
Well done to all those who received a Golden Postcard this week, we are incredibly proud of you and your continued efforts!

Our recent Friday assembly was a wonderful celebration of achievement, highlighting a great array of prize winners from across the school.
We would like to say a huge well done to all the pupils who achieved and received awards for their involvement and success in extra-curricular activities, clubs and societies. From sporting accomplishments and musical talents to contributions in academic clubs and creative pursuits, it was inspiring to see such a wide range of dedication and enthusiasm on display.
These achievements are a testament not only to the hard work and commitment of our pupils, but also to their willingness to challenge themselves, explore new interests and contribute positively to our school community beyond the classroom.
We are incredibly proud of every pupil who was recognised. Your efforts embody the values of our school and inspire others to get involved and strive for excellence.

Mr McCambley’s Golden Postcards continue to be one of the most sought after awards at our weekly assemblies.
These special postcards recognise pupils who consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour, not only in the classroom but also around the school. Whether it’s showing good manners in the dining hall, behaving sensibly in the corridors while running errands or being a positive role model to others, each recipient truly deserves this recognition.
Every Golden Postcard celebrates children who make our school a happy, respectful and safe place for everyone. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who have received a Golden Postcard in the past, as well as those who will earn one in the future.
