World Book Day was a wonderful success this year, filling our school with creativity, colour, and a shared love of reading. Children across all year groups enjoyed celebrating their favourite stories in a fun and imaginative way.
To mark the occasion, pupils and staff were invited to dress up as their favourite book character or decorate a wooden spoon to represent a character they love. From classic storybook heroes to modern favourites, our classrooms were filled with an incredible variety of characters brought to life through thoughtful costumes and beautifully designed spoons.
World Book Day reminded us all of the JOY that reading can bring.
A huge well done to all of our pupils for taking part and helping to make the day so memorable.

Our school was delighted to welcome children’s author, Steven Park, as part of our World Book Day celebrations and be introduced to his brand‑new book, Sasi’s Place in Space. Pupils from Nursery to Primary 7 gathered excitedly to meet the author, a familiar face to some in the school community, and learn more about the imaginative world behind his latest story.
The children were captivated as he read aloud, sparking lots of curiosity about space, storytelling, and how ideas become books.
He then spoke about the process of writing and publishing, explaining where his inspiration came from and how a story grows from a single idea into a finished book. Pupils were fascinated to hear about drafting, editing, working with illustrators (our very own Mrs Park), and the journey a book takes before reaching the shelves.
Primary 3 and Primary 4 classes also enjoyed a creative writing workshop. The children produced fantastic pieces of writing and loved the chance to learn from a real author.
We are very grateful to Steven Park for spending the day with us. His enthusiasm, storytelling talent and encouragement have truly inspired our young writers. We look forward to seeing the creativity he has sparked continue to grow in the weeks ahead!

This week, our wonderful kitchen staff prepared a delicious special menu to help us celebrate Chinese New Year. The themed dishes were greatly enjoyed by pupils and staff alike, bringing a real sense of festivity to the dining hall.
A special thank you also goes to our P6 pupils, who helped decorate the area around the dinner hall hatch. Their bright, creative decorations added a fantastic splash of colour and really enhanced the celebrations for everyone.
It was a lovely way to mark this important cultural event, and we are grateful to everyone who played a part in making it so enjoyable.
