P7 Titanic Experience

Details
Category: Primary 7 2022-23 Archive
Published: 24 April 2023
Just before Easter both P7 classes visited the Titanic exhibition in Belfast to conclude our WAU topic. Robert Ballard, who found the wreck of RMS Titanic, was also in the Museum on the same day!

Our excellent tour guides took us through nine galleries, telling the story of RMS Titanic from her design in Belfast in the early 1900s through her construction and launch, to her maiden voyage and tragic end. The new interactive galleries were very poignant as we searched for family names, wondered at the amazing collection of unique artefacts and explored the ocean floor where the Titanic now rests. The whole experience was unforgettable.

Our visit concluded with a walk along the slipway to experience the true size and greatness of this majestic ship.

A Victorian Christmas

P7 visited Hillsborough Castle to find out how the Victorians prepared for an exciting and fashionable Christmas. We were mesmerised by the array of food on the Victorian Christmas table and how carefully the table settings and decorations were presented. We played Victorian parlour games, stirred up a wish in the Christmas pudding and even took part in a pantomime. Look out for a very special Christmas visitor in our photos below…

James Connor from Sentinus visited school last week to teach us how to program a robot to drive around a track. We had to program commands and angles to get the robot moving and turning in the right direction. Some of us weren’t too sure about the rules of the road, especially roundabouts, but we got there in the end. To see how much fun we had check out the photos below…

Honey Day - The Buzz about P7!!

Details
Category: Primary 7 2022-23 Archive
Published: 27 October 2022

It's been buzzing in P7 this term as both classes have been studying bees. We have learned about the hierarchy of the hive, beekeeping, honey production and the importance of bees to our biodiversity. We celebrated the end of our bee topic with the waggle dance and some un-bee-lievably good toast and honey! Please see the link below for all of our photographs.
