P6 Mr Allen’s class took on the role of “Capacity Detectives” last week as they explored estimation and measurement through a hands‑on investigation. Working in teams, pupils estimated and measured the capacity of a variety of containers, comparing their predictions with their actual measurements. The highlight of the lesson was a mystery challenge were each group had to examine clues and decide which container they believed caused a ‘spill’. Through careful thinking, discussion and practical measuring, pupils applied their Numeracy skills in a fun and engaging way.
