Primary 2 enjoyed making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. They followed a recipe and made the batter with the necessary ingredients. Everyone enjoyed getting to eat them! They also enjoyed a variety of tasty toppings!

As part of our houses and homes topic, Primary 2 very kindly had a visit from Mr Wickie to teach us about his job as a builder. He taught us the importance of wearing protective clothing on the building site to keep us safe. We then together made our very own house out of wood, lots of children got the chance to use the screw gun to screw the pieces of wood together, it’s not every day we get to make our very own wooden house, such a treat!
Thank you so much Mr Wickie for taking the time out of your busy day to come in to school, for our wonderful new wooden house and the yummy sweets and chocolates.

As part of our houses and homes topic, Primary 2 had a visit from Mr Irwin to teach us about being an architect. We saw plans of houses and learned how to draw and design a house of our own! A huge thank you to Mr Irwin for taking the time to come in to school and for the wonderful drawing pencils and sweets he provided for each child!

Primary 2 spent a lovely morning walking around Waringstown village, observing the different types of homes and buildings. The children worked with a partner and recorded their findings on their tick sheet. Take a look through our gallery to see how we got on.

Primary 2 had an exciting visit from Dr Wethers to help us learn more about our topic ‘Wonderful Me’. Dr Wethers showed us lots of pictures of what our bodies look like on the inside and we looked at real x-ray pictures.
He described a typical day in his job and the children enjoyed asking lots of interesting questions. A big thank you to Dr Wethers for taking time out of his busy week to come and talk to us.
