The children in Primary 2 Mrs Munce’s class recently enjoyed a fun-filled week based around the Polar Express. This ended with Primary 2 leading a Polar Express assembly. The children all enjoyed dressing up and taking part and everyone played their role wonderfully! They played out the beginning of the story of the Polar Express and everyone enjoyed Santa’s appearance!!! The train then took a detour on the way home and went to Bethlehem to learn what Christmas was really all about and to learn that the ‘First gift of Christmas’ really was – baby Jesus.

Primary 2 recently enjoyed a ‘Polar Express’ week. This was based around the story of Polar Express.
The children came into school in their pyjamas and reenacted boarding ‘The Polar Express’ in the midst of their own transformed classrooms! The teachers read the story and served hot chocolate with marshmallows – yum! Literacy and Numeracy lessons have all been based around the story … enjoy our pictures!!

Primary 2 recently visited the Palace Stables in Armagh for their ‘Apples’ trip. They learned how to make ‘Apple Fage’ (potato bread!), how apples were squeezed into juice in the 1700s and all about the different kinds of apples – did you know there are 6000 kinds of apples in the world?! The visit was fun and educational, Primary 2 had a wonderful day!

We are learning about hedgehogs in P2. We read ‘The Brave Little Hedgehog’ and learned lots of facts about hedgehogs. We made hedgehogs in class using junk art and we all made a clay hedgehog.
