Primary 1 Fly To The Sun!

On Friday Primary One children had a day they will never forget!

The children came to school dressed for a flight to the sun. They checked in with their passports and luggage. Mrs Wilson gave them boarding passes and the children went through security and into the departure lounge. Captain McCambley (in his pilot’s uniform) greeted the children and called them when the aeroplane was ready for boarding.

After take-off the children relaxed and enjoyed an inflight snack served by members of the Cabin Crew. The plane landed safely and we all enjoyed an ice pop in the sun. To make the occasion extra special the children enjoyed their lunch al fresco!

It was a really special day as you can see from the photographs – enjoy looking through them all!

As part of our topic on cows and dairy products the children in P1 tasted three different flavours of milkshake - strawberry, chocolate and banana.  All fresh from Brookvale Farm!  They chose their favourite flavour and learnt how to record it on a class graph.  Enjoy looking at our photographs of today's activities!

Primary 1 Post Their Letters To Santa

Primary One children recently took a walk to the village post box to post off their letters to Santa.  The children came to school with ideas of what gift they would like to receive and decorated their letters beautifully.  We wrote Santa's address onto the envelope and stuck on a big stamp to make sure they will reach Santa successfully.  We are now waiting patiently on a reply from Santa and are trying to be extra good before Christmas Day!

Primary One Visit The Greengrocers

Details
Category: Primary 1 2020-21 Archive
Published: 24 November 2020

As part of our Green Topic, Primary One went to the village greengrocers to investigate what fruit and vegetables are green. We selected green peppers, green grapes, green apples, pears, celery and lettuce to purchase and took them back to school to taste. We then recorded in our World Around Us books which fruits and vegetables we found tasty and which ones we weren’t so keen on!

Thank you to the greengrocer and thank you also to Mr McKittrick who accompanied us on our walk to ensure we crossed the road safely. We enjoyed every part of this village walk!
