Unfortunately due to the current situation we are finding ourselves in, the boys and girls from Primary 1 have been unable to experience their school trip to Streamvale Farm.  They have been working so hard, learning about all the different animals they'd hoped to meet on their trip to the farm.  Here is a video they have made which includes many of these animals.  Huge thank you to Mrs Brown and Mrs Park for the compiling and production of this video.

Primary 1 had so much fun during structured play in the resource area this week. We got to roleplay as firefighters and saved all our teachers from Waringstown Primary School as it burned down. We also had the chance to extinguish fires in the sand and water area and were very creative using playdough to make fire engines and hoses.

Last week, Primary 1 were visited by a police officer as part of their investigation of ‘999’. We learnt about the difference between 999 and 101 and which to call in an emergency. She showed us her uniform including all of the equipment on her belt; handcuffs, pepper spray, notebook etc. Some of us got to try the handcuffs and police vest on. They were very heavy! Thank you very much to the police officer for coming to visit us and bringing a police car for us to have a look around.

The fire brigade recently visited Primary 1 to round off our special visits from the emergency services. Special thanks to Mr. Robinson for organising the visit and bringing the fire engine along. We had lots of fun spraying the hose and learning all about the important equipment they use as part of their job.

Primary 1 Enjoy A Visit From A Local Paramedic

As part of our 999 topic, P1 had a special visit from a paramedic. He showed us all the important equipment he uses when he is helping sick or injured people and some of us got to demonstrate how these are used. He then took us out to see his first response car and hear the sirens. It was very loud so we had to cover our ears! Thank you to paramedic Steve for coming to visit us. We enjoyed it very much and learnt lots of useful facts!
