The Senior Choir is comprised of 9 - 11 year old pupils (Primary 5 -7). The choir is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. Auditions take place in September and at the beginning of each new term.

The choir is no stranger to high level media performance having participated in  'Excellence at Work' – Television Broadcast; A Christmas Carol - BBC Northern Ireland and Ulster School Choir of the Year winning the Regional Heat on three occasions followed by the coveted title of UTV Primary School Choir of the Year in 1998.  Other musical highlights include performing in Musical Concerts in St Mark's Church, Portadown and St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh for Northern Ireland charities.

More recently the choir won the prestigious title of 'Songs of Praise United Kingdom Junior School Choir of the Year' 2004, a title which brought great credit to the school and to Northern Ireland. In September the following year the Senior Choir were invited to sing on stage at The Royal Albert Hall, London during the Songs of Praise 'Big Sing' event. Albert Hall

 

In 2009 the choir returned to Manchester to compete in the Songs of Praise competition, a venture which culminated in March when we were again awarded the title of 'Songs of Praise Junior School Choir of the Year' for 2009.  Last autumn the choir sang with Aled Jones to create a special CD for Children in Need. In September 2010 the Senior Choir were invited to sing in a Church of Ireland Gala Concert in the Belfast Waterfront Hall. The evening was conducted by the world famous Cambridge composer, Dr John Rutter. The choir participated in a workshop with Dr Rutter in Fisherwick Presbyterian Church, Belfast before taking part in the concert.

We are very proud of our Senior Choir and this year can boast some seventy members making us one of the largest after school clubs!
