The Primary 6 children have really enjoyed their 4 weeks with Dave Wiggins, our Active Travel Officer, at the After School Bike Club. They have learnt how to look after their bike, ride their bike safely and gain confidence in their bike skills.
Thank you to Dave who has come into school to take this after school activity.

During this half term, the children have participated in a series of activities focused on Viking Culture, integrating STEM, history and art.
Pupils were introduced to the basic design and structure of the Viking longboat learning about key features like the keel, oars, hull and sails. They sketched their own designs focusing on balance and stability and used tin foil to replicate the authentic Viking boat shape. We then tested our boats in water to see how well they floated and how many marbles they were able to hold.
Alongside the hands-on boat project we researched different aspects of Viking life and created PowerPoint presentations to share their findings with the class. These included images and key facts about Viking culture helping to develop their digital literacy and public speaking skills. We also had a lot of fun creating Viking longboat collage for our art this half term.
