Portadown Music Festival Association as it began in 1922 as a non political, undenomination movement which has been proudly preserved through the last 88 years. From a Festival of forty-one classes in the Music section initiated by Dr Winifred E Hadden in 1922 it has grown to a total of 490 classes devoted to the present six different sections namely; Music, Speech, Drama, Folk Dancing, Scottish Dancing, and Dance, With welll over 7,000 competitors extending over 42 days during February to May each year. Performed by Amateurs, Judged by Professionals, Organised by Volunteers.
