This year Waringstown Primary School had another outstanding success at the Portadown Speech Festival winning 7 first places.

The winners were Zoe Rodgers P1, Reuben Hamilton P1, Luke Wheeler P2, John Dumigan P3, Lydia McNeill P4, Jordan Poots P6 and Joshua Millar P7.

This year we won 5 trophies, 7 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 12 bronze medals and 16 certificates of merit. Zoe Rodgers won The Muriel Todd Girls' Cup, Reuben Hamilton won The Muriel Todd Boys' Cup and John Dumigan won The Martin Cup, Lydia McNeill won The Flower Shop Cup and Jordan Poots won The Lesley McQuade Shield.

Congratulations to all concerned and many thanks to Mrs Usher for preparing the children so well. We also appreciate the time given by Mrs Usher on a voluntary basis to enable our children to take part in Festival. Her hard work and ability to bring the best out of the speakers gives great enrichment to all those taking part.
