On Monday our school hockey team went to Lurgan Junior High to compete in the Mid-Ulster tournament.
The girls won their section and played Armstrong in the semi –finals. They secured a convincing victory, beating Armstrong 4-0. In the finals they met ‘old rivals’, Kingspark.After a hard fought battle, the final score was 2-0 to Waringstown. Now Mid Ulster champions!
On Wednesday Waringstown A and B teams were playing in the Northern Ireland Qualifiers. Having won their section, the ‘A’ team played Edenderry, Portadown and beat them 3-0. Armstrong were tough opposition in the final but the team kept their heads and won 2-0. The team came home with two shields this week and a very happy Mrs.McCollum!
It’s also important to note, our ‘B Team’ played four matches ,winning three and drawing one. Excellent work by all girls involved.
