Thursday 28th February will long be remembered by many of the boys in the school football teams. Waringstown played host to The Armstrong PS from Armagh in a festival of football involving 14 boys. For many of the boys, it was their first competitive match against another school, but the day was thoroughly enjoyed by both schools.
Many parents and grandparents took the opportunity to watch their children play and at the end of the festival the boys from Waringstown came out on top. Both teams were presented with drinks crisps and biscuits as refreshments when the tournament was finished.
Mr Brown was delighted with the skill level, determination and most of all the sportsmanship of both teams. At the end of each match the children shook hands and congratulated each other. This showed the close relationship between both schools who have a long sporting relationship. As a school we look forward to our next encounter with The Armstrong during the cricket season.
Congratulations to all concerned.
