Primary 5 Mrs Peacocke’s class were very privileged to be chosen to take part in Sustrans’ Message in a Bottle. The bottle is being passed around the six different areas Sustrans work in in Northern Ireland and Waringstown Primary School was the fourth area to complete it. The bottle had a message which asked us to complete a Chapter about Dave Wiggin’s folding bike going on an adventure to find one of the six Golden Chains. The class worked together with Mrs Peacocke to create a story including clues that led Buzz and his sidekick Stanley Stabilisers on an adventure around the area of Waringstown. The children really enjoyed this activity and the parents even got involved too after discussions at home about what we were doing. A big thank you to Dave for choosing Waringstown to take part in this and the children and parents for all their input into the story. When the six areas have completed the adventure the whole story will be bound into a book and a copy will be presented to the school. Primary 5 are very excited to hear how the quest to find the six Golden Chains will end.
