With the weather being so nice the School 'Eco' Council took an opportunity to get outside and plant some new flowers. Hopefully these flowers will come back year after year given us lovely colours in the Foundation Stage Playground.
The gardening club will soon be updating other planters around the school.

Today in assembly the School Council launched their new logo. During the last School Council meeting the councillors brought all the logo entries together, picked out their top five (all of which won a prize) and passed these onto the School SLT to choose the winner.
Well done to Matthew Conn for his winning design. Both the School Council and SLT loved how it captured our 'ECO' work and our school motto. Well done.

The winning entry will now be used for all documentatiion produced by the School Council.
You can see the assembly presentation attached as a PDF.

Waringstown Primary Schools first ‘School Council’
In September we proudly established our own School Council. Children from Year 4 to Year 7 were invited to present their manifestos to their class. A vote then took place to see which child from each class would represent them on the Council.
You can see the 2015/16 School Council Representatives below;
The school council this year will be involved in many discussions and help to make decisions about our school. This year the School Council will
- Set up and maintain class suggestion boxes
- hold and judge a design a logo competition
- feed back information to ALL classes after meetings take place
- Will represent the school when we have special visitors
- Complete an ‘environmental review’ to help us become more ‘eco’ friendly
Mr Gault, Mrs Matthews and Mrs Johnston will be the staff working alongside the School Council this year.
