This week in Forest School the P4s were learning about area. Each pupil was given a leaf and had to decide on something to cover it's surface with. After some discussion, the pupils were then given cubes (standard unit) to make the measuring of the leaf's surface area easier.
The next challenge was for the children to cover the surface of a larger space with items they found around them. Some groups then used string or sticks to create their own squares for counting.
