Primary 5 Enjoy Their Tayto Tour!

Primary 5 have been studying the topic of Northern Ireland within World Around Us.  They have been looking at different products of Northern Ireland, one being our very own Tayto brand of crisps!  The children from Mrs Peacocke's and Mrs Williamson's classes visited the Tayto Factory recently and were given the opportunity to see first hand how crisps are made, produced and packed ready for the shop.  The children really enjoyed this experience and even got to meet Mr Tayto himself!

Primary 5 Are Really Enjoying Their Series Of Lessons On Gymnastics!

Primary 5 have been busy during P.E. getting familiar with Gymnastics.  They have really enjoyed the experience of using the Gym apparatus and are beginning to get adventurous on the ropes and climbing frame!

Mrs Williamson has ensured that the children always THINK SAFETY when using the apparatus.  This series of lessons will continue for a few weeks and therefore will further develop their skills.

Fire Service NI visit Primary 5

Recently Primary 5 were visited by the Northern Ireland Fire Service. The children were given a brief safety talk by the officers in class and then asked to complete an activity. The children were then taken outside to see the Fire Engine and each child was allowed to use the water hose!! Even Mrs Williamson and Mrs Peacocke were roped into having a go, Mrs Williamson almost sprayed poor Mrs Peacocke! The children really enjoyed and benefited greatly from this very worthwhile and educational annual visit. A special thank you was said by Mrs Williamson to the Lurgan Branch of NI Fire Service who were fantastic in relaying their safety message.

Primary 5 Christingle Assembly

P5 Mrs Peacocke's class have been enjoying the run up to Christmas practising their Assembly 'The Christingle.' They reminded the rest of the school that with all the excitement about Christmas it is important not to forget the true meaning for the season. The children learnt about the Christingle and explained during the assembly the importance of each part of the decoration. Mrs Peacocke was very proud of her class and was really pleased with how well they did.

P5 would like to wish everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas!
