What an Assembly from the P6 classes today (Friday 14th October). The children put on nearly an hour long harvest assembly comprising of poetry, speech and drama, dance...you name it, we had it!
All of the children in the school brought in harvest gifts for those less fortunate than ourselves and presented them to the P6 children. The Craigavon Food Bank was amazed at our generosity. Thank-you Parents!
Mr Brown and Mr Somerville were so delighted with how the assembly turned out. Well done to every P6 Pupil!

In P6, we have been learning all about how the Vikings explored far from Scandinavia and that they raided, traded and settled in far off lands like Britain.
One of the main reasons they were such good explorers was because they were excellent boat builders. They were able to travel great distances and carry large amounts of people due to this incredible skill.
The P6 pupils were set the challenge of designing a boat hull which could carry the most weight. So today in class they designed and built their hulls using tinfoil.
Later on this week we are going to test the hulls to see which one was the winning design. The results should appear on Seesaw after we have tested them.

As part of our Eco-Schools initiative, the Primary 6 children have started their recycling duties. This involves all paper used within school being collected in recycling bins. The P6 pupils then carryout the duty of emptying the recycling bins of all classes into the green recycling bins on the school grounds.
All recycling material is kept for further use. This links in with the P6 topic of "materials," which comes later in the year!
The P6 Children hope that this initiative will help with the school's pursuit of its green eco-flag.
