It was brilliant to see so many pupils interested in joining the School Eco Council and the manifestos written and presented were of top quality. This year a boy and girl from each P4 - P7 class was selected to represent as a School Eco Councillor.

The School ECO Council used some of their funds raised from last year's Second Hand Book sale to purchase bungee bouncers and therapy putty for our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils. Every year the School Eco Council raise funds which they put back into the school by buying what year groups and classes have requested.
Next Friday will be another School Eco School fundraiser, Ditch the Dark Day. Half of the money from this will be given to a charity and the other half will be used by the School Eco Council to purchase another set of resources for pupil use.

We are delighted with our new bird tables that have been built and positioned outside our P3 classrooms to aid P3 with their Bird Topic. The School Eco Council purchased these using some of the money raised from their Bag2School recycling campaign before Christmas. It's great to see our School Eco Council using their budget (from funds that they have raised) to help our school grounds develop. Hopefully the birds will like these as much as we do.

Thanks to an invitation from the Deputy Lord Mayor, Paul Greenfield, our School 'Eco' Council travelled up to the Civic Centre to see how Armagh City, Banbridge, Craigavon Borough Council conduct business. Our Councillors had a chance to see the Lord Mayor's Parlour and take a seat in Craigavon Chambers which they loved. They also had a chance to try on robes and the Deputy Lord Mayor's chain.
Upper Bann MP David Simpson also took some time out of his busy schedule to meet with our Councilors and talk us through the role of an MP. Our Councilors had a chance to talk about their manifestos and elections within school, and ask the politicians numerous questions about why they got into politics.
This was a fantastic treat for each of our Councilors and we would like to thank the Deputy Lord Mayor Councilor Paul Greenfield for making it happen, and thank Upper Bann MP David Simpson for meeting with us.

With the weather being so nice the School 'Eco' Council took an opportunity to get outside and plant some new flowers. Hopefully these flowers will come back year after year given us lovely colours in the Foundation Stage Playground.
The gardening club will soon be updating other planters around the school.
