Primary 5 Celebrate Their Half Marathon Achievement!

Primary 5 pupils completed their Half Marathon of 13.1 miles this afternoon on what was a very inclement day!    In true Half Marathon Club style for our Primary 5 runners this term ... it rained on race day!  However the rain certainly did not hold the intrepid runners back!  Today saw 40 Primary 5 children crossing the finishing line to achieve their Half Marathon Medal.  All other Primary 5 children supported their peers by marshalling the route and encouraging the runners on their way round.   Well done to all!

The celebration mile allowed parents, grandparents and other spectators to join in and support the runners.  Mrs Wan, one of our Board of Governors (and parent)  presented each runner with a medal and certificate. Each child also received a pack kindly sponsored by Mr Mark Gordon (Parent & Governor) and the House of Sport, Rushmere Shopping Centre.  Mrs Williamson and Mrs Carville enjoyed leading the Half Marathon Club this term and were also assisted by Mrs Graham whom has been of great help to the HM Club.  They are all delighted with the children's enthusiasm throughout the 7 week programme and would like to congratulate each child on their Half Marathon achievement.  Take a look through the gallery below, thank you to Mrs Carville for being our photographer:

Rain Does Not Stop Primary 5 Half Marathon Club!

Extra Curricular Activities are in full swing now that everyone is settled well into Term 1.  The intrepid Half Marathoners have been training hard in the rain!  There has been a great turn out of boys and girls over the last few weeks and Mrs Williamson and Mrs Carville are very impressed with the enthusiasm and skills of all those attending.  We are hoping for a little dry spell for the next training session!  Take a look through our photo gallery to see how the boys and girls are getting on:

Primary 7 Celebrate Their Half Marathon Achievement

Primary 7 pupils completed their Half Marathon of 13.1 miles today on what was a very warm run!  Today saw just over 40 Primary 7 children crossing the finishing line to achieve their Half Marathon Medal.  This sees a total of 96 children in Key Stage 2 this year achieving the HM distance and medal.  Well done to all!

As this was our Primary 7 group of children, we saw some very strong, impressive running and hope that these young athletes may continue to show an interest in running as they progress to the next stage in their education career.
